PETER MATTHEWS AIA
Peter has dedicated his life to the core aesthetic value of architecture. Since an early age, he has deliberated art and all things visual. Grounded in practicalities of program and tectonics, Peter focuses on revealing core truths and visual ideas that give form and meaning to design aesthetics. This vision is immediately apparent in the iconic Software Engineering Institute, at Carnegie Mellon University, that graced the cover of ARCHITECTURAL RECORD, one of his earlier works.
An award winning architect, Peter led the design effort in many distinguished building projects. He is also an adept facilitator working with focus groups, committees and decision makers to define and realize challenging building programs.
Peter’s depth of experience includes stints at notable architectural offices in New York, Boston, San Francisco and Pittsburgh; as well as large scale clients such as the LeFrak Organization. His aesthetic focus, clean design lines and well-grounded artistic talent provide a statement of accomplished, timeless elegance and practicality that makes him particularly sensitive to the requirements of educational and arts related projects.
